  • Sign the petition located under the services tab. Once this petition reaches enough signatures, it will force administrators in the University’s Psychology Department to add an Environmental Stress requirement to the Psychology Degree requirement. This will not be an added class, rather it will provide more structure to the current curriculum and will count toward one of the three thematic requirements.

  • Increase your knowledge on environmental stressors so that you can become an empathetic provider who understands the significance it has on mental health. Recognize and understand symptoms of environmental stress and learn how to tailor treatment to each patient

  • Environmental stress — including heat, air pollution, noise, and chemical exposures — shapes human health, community resilience, and economic stability. Advocating for environmental stress education equips policymakers, educators, healthcare providers, and the public with the knowledge to recognize hazards, prioritize preventative measures, and implement evidence-based interventions. Education drives equitable solutions by highlighting vulnerable populations, informing land-use and infrastructure decisions, and promoting adaptive behaviors that reduce exposure and long-term harm. Investing in comprehensive environmental stress curriculum and public outreach strengthens preparedness, reduces health disparities, and supports sustainable policy that protects people and ecosystems. Prioritizing this education is essential to building healthier, more resilient communities in a changing environment.
